Kayla Booker R.Ac

Registered Acupuncturist

Hi, I'm Kayla, a Registered Acupuncturist (R.Ac.) practicing in Ontario, with a focus on sports injury recovery, pain management, injury prevention, and overall wellness.

My approach combines Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) assessment with acupuncture and hands-on techniques such as cupping, body Gua Sha, Tuina massage, and electroacupuncture. I work with people who want to recover from injury, manage ongoing pain or tension, improve mobility, and feel better in their day-to-day lives.

I take a whole-body approach to care — looking beyond where pain shows up to understand the patterns that may be contributing to it. By combining TCM principles with evidence-informed, hands-on assessment, I tailor each treatment to where your body is right now and what it needs to move forward.

Whether you're an athlete working toward peak performance, recovering from an injury, or simply looking to move and feel better, my goal is to support your body's ability to heal, adapt, and thrive.

Who I Am

My Story

VID_20260904_131805_816_bsl (1).mp4

I grew up around tobacco farmers — hardworking, strong, and always active. Physical strength wasn't just admired in my family, it was a way of life.

But somewhere along the way, I lost sight of that. I knew exercise and health mattered, but for years, work always came first. I pushed through fatigue, ignored the warning signs, and kept going — until my body finally forced me to stop.

An overuse shoulder injury became the turning point. Frustrated and searching for relief, I discovered acupuncture. Not only did it help me physically recover, but it also reshaped how I thought about health altogether.

That experience led me to Traditional Chinese Medicine — a system that doesn't just treat symptoms, but looks at the whole body, inside and out. I saw firsthand how powerful it could be, not just for recovery, but for building long-term strength and resilience.

Now, I help others do the same: recover from injury, reconnect with their bodies, and build sustainable, active lives — the same way I once had to relearn how to do myself.

Who I Work With

From Office to Field

I work with a wide range of people — from athletes and weekend warriors to those simply looking to move through daily life with less pain and more ease.

Whether you're recovering from a sports injury, managing chronic tension, preparing for competition, or looking to support your body's overall balance, my treatments are tailored to meet you where you are.

Active Individuals & Athletes

For those who train hard, compete, or simply love to move — I help you recover faster, perform better, and stay injury-free.

  • Sports injuries (sprains, strains, tendonitis, muscle tears)

  • Overuse injuries from running, lifting, cycling, or repetitive training

  • Pre- and post-competition support to manage tension and optimize recovery

  • Performance-focused care to improve mobility, flexibility, and range of motion

Desk Workers & Everyday Movers

Not every injury happens on the field. I also work with people whose daily routines — sitting, screen time, repetitive movement — leave them stiff, sore, or out of balance.

  • Neck, shoulder, and upper back tension from prolonged sitting

  • Lower back pain and stiffness from long hours at a desk

  • Repetitive strain injuries (wrists, forearms, elbows)

  • Headaches and tension linked to posture or stress

Post-Injury & Post-Surgical Patients

Recovery doesn't end when the cast comes off or the surgery is over. I support the next phase of healing — restoring strength, mobility, and confidence in your body.

  • Rehabilitation support after orthopedic surgery

  • Scar tissue and mobility work post-injury

  • Reducing pain and inflammation during recovery

  • Helping rebuild strength and range of motion safely

Whole-Body Support

Pain and tension rarely exist in isolation — that's why I also treat the underlying patterns that affect how you feel day to day.

  • Digestive concerns (bloating, irregularity, discomfort)

  • Sleep difficulties (trouble falling or staying asleep)

  • Stress, tension, and overall fatigue

  • Supporting the body's natural balance through a whole-person lens
